Father’s Day cards are officially underway in my craft room! I always try to push myself to create something that feels rugged, detailed, and completely unique for the dads in our lives.
For this project, I paired the awesome Tool Box Dies from Honey Bee Stamps with some of my absolute favorite rich cardstocks from CutCardStock. I used Vanilla Bean Brown for a rustic wooden crate and Hummingbird Green for the perfect vintage beer bottle color. My absolute favorite part of making this card was using Distress Oxide inks to shade the bottles and wood grain—it’s amazing how a little ink blending can make flat cardstock look exactly like real glass and weathered wood!
I wanted the crate to be the main star, so I popped it up with foam tape against a deep Beetle Black background to make those green bottles absolutely sing.
If you want to see exactly how I shaded the pieces and grab the full list of products I used, the complete tutorial is live over on the CutCardStock blog!
