There’s nothing quite like a change in season to get me dreaming of the open road! For my latest ScrapbookPal.com Design Team project, I wanted to capture that “adventure is calling” feeling using some of my favorite Catherine Pooler Designs supplies.
Building the Scene
I started by ink blending a bold, glowing sunset using a variety of CP inks, from deep Glam purple to bright Lemongrass yellow. To create the backdrop, I layered the Peak View Stencil with Grape Crush for the mountains and Mardi Gras for the pine trees.
Adding the Details
The vintage trailer from the Happy Trail-ers set is the real star here! I colored it with my Copic markers in a retro-inspired palette and used the coordinating dies for a perfect cut. To give the sky a bit of “magic,” I added stars and some metallic splatter using Simon Hurley Solar Spray.
The Finishing Touch
To make the scene pop, I used the Spellbinders Playful Stitched Panels to die-cut the background. I love how the double-stitched border frames the landscape! I assembled everything with clear foam tape to give the trailer and the central panel plenty of dimension.
I’m so happy with how this dimensional scene turned out—it’s the perfect way to wish someone “Happy Trails” on their next journey!
